MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Skies will continue to clear today with a gradual warming trend through the rest of the work week.
This morning is cold and frosty with temperatures in the lower 30s. A few areas of lingering clouds early today will clear out and give way to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon and evening. With more sunshine, temperatures will be a bit warmer with afternoon readings near 50.
Tonight will see another round of cold and frosty weather with temperatures returning to the lower 30s.
By Wednesday, temperatures will climb further into the middle 50s, and then into the upper 50s to near 60 by Thursday.
The weekend will feature some very wild swings in the weather as a powerful cold front moves through the area. Ahead of the front, temperatures will soar into the lower and middle 60s with thickening clouds on Saturday. As the front draws closer, rain will overspread the region through midday Sunday.
The powerful front will then move through the area on Sunday. Temperatures in the lower and middle 60s early in the day will tumble through the afternoon and evening as Arctic air settles into the area. By Sunday night, temperatures will drop all the way into the lower and middle 20s.
The coldest air of the winter so far will settle in by Monday with afternoon temperatures only in the middle 30s.
