MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Topgolf Myrtle Beach located on the southeast corner of Robert Grissom Parkway and 29th Avenue North is just about complete with construction. Director of operations for Topgolf Myrtle Beach, Jeff Kowalski, says they are on track to open by the end of February or early March.
This three-level, 55,000 square foot venue will be Topgolf’s 53rd location, and the first in South Carolina. It will feature golf games for all ages and skill levels in 72 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host six players at a time. To give you a better idea, the bays would be similar to bowling alley bays. This is unlike your usual golf range, or course. Every golf ball has a microchip in it, therefore players can see the accuracy and distance of their shots through a TV screen in their hitting bay.
The global sports entertainment company headquartered in Dallas hopes to bring a new form of entertainment to one of the top golf destinations in the country for all skill-levels to enjoy.
“Well the unique thing is not only do we bring golf, we bring innovation to golf. So we have microchips in our golf balls, we have targets in the outfield, we have games to keep score, but it’s for all skill levels," said Kowalski.
Kowalski said Myrtle Beach is known as the "golf capital' of the world to many, so what better place to bring an entertainment sports attraction right here to the heart of it all.
“For the future, I look at Topgolf Myrtle Beach to be one of the most popular venues in our brand, and we’re going to bring the excitement and the fun and the experience to not only the locals, cause we really want to take care of our locals, but we’re going to show the 14 million visitors what we have to offer,” said Kowalski.
Topgolf Myrtle Beach just kicked off their hiring events, which they call "mission ambitions” and expect to hire at least 350 part-time and full-time workers. Click here for more information.
