CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man was taken into custody early Tuesday morning for allegedly opening fire on a car on Christmas night while a pregnant woman was inside.
Online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center state 23-year-old Jarrell Lorenzo James was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful possession of a pistol.
As of 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, he remained in jail under no bond.
An incident report from the Horry County Police Department states officers went to a gas station at 3656 Hwy. 701 South in the Conway area at 10:35 p.m. on Dec. 25 for a report of shots fired into an occupied vehicle.
Two women were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting but were not injured, according to the report. Police said one vehicle was damaged following a collision, while another appeared to have been shot.
The report states one of the women was pregnant and EMS responded. The suspect had left the scene, but the two women said they knew him.
