MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Coastal Carolina officials are asking students to reflect on the university’s core values Sunday after a video of a recent alum is making the rounds on social media.

The video showed disturbing language and conduct, including words that are extremely racist. Social media identified the individual as an alumnus and the university later confirmed this status

The statement from CCU urged students to reject all notions of hate.

“Coastal Carolina University is committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion and creating an environment that embraces our community as a whole,” the statement read in part.
