Have you ever heard someone say, "I don't take the time to vote because my vote doesn't count?" First, that type of thinking seems more like laziness than rational thinking, but if they really feel that way then you now have two examples to share that proves that every vote does count.
Mayoral races in Florence and Atlantic Beach were both decided by one vote. Of course, the candidates on the short end of the vote challenged the results. With the response from the South Carolina Supreme Court the challenges are now over in the Florence race and hopefully a decision on the Atlantic Beach results will be forthcoming.
So the next time you have the opportunity to participate in the electoral process... remember... your vote does count. I can promise this; the person who gets elected will make decisions that impact your life. That should be reason enough to motivate you to take advantage of the democratic process we Americans are blessed to have in place.
One Vote! Your Vote! It counts!
