Brandon Herring

Video Journalist/Anchor | bherring@wmbfnews.com

Brandon Herring brings a variety of experience to the WMBF News team as a photographer and video journalist. He started his professional news career as an associate producer at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, NC. He's also been a reporter, anchor and interim news director at WDNN-TV in Dalton, GA. Before coming to WMBF, Brandon was a photographer and reporter at WSET-TV in Lynchburg/Roanoke, VA.

Serving the public is Brandon's favorite part of his job. "I love becoming as much of an expert as I can about every story I cover and then showing and telling the viewers about it," he says.

Brandon earned a degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill. While at Carolina, he reported for the award-winning, student-produced newscast Carolina Week. He also played clarinet in the marching and pep bands and was president of Old East dormitory (the oldest state university building in the country). Participating in the student shag club also took up a little of his time, but he says he'd still make a pretty bad dance partner.

A native of Lumberton, NC, Brandon loves that he's not far from family. He also likes living in the Grand Strand because, the weather allows him to get outside and be active year round, and he can listen to beach music on the radio!
