Catherine Franklin

Catherine Franklin joins the WMBF News Team from WPXI-TV in Pittsburg, PA, where she associate produced. At WMBF, Catherine will be working as a producer.

After graduating from Penn State Erie with a degree in English literature, Catherine was planning on building a career as an English teacher. But after tutoring middle-school students she decided that the job was not right for her. Catherine reconsidered her career options and landed an internship at 35WSEE-TV in Eerie and fell in love with production and broadcasting. The fast-paced environment that is frequently changing is what drew Catherine into broadcasting.

Despite being land-locked in Pittsburg at WPXI for the past several years, Catherine is excited about living by the water for the first time in Myrtle Beach.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports and was formerly a member of the Penn State Erie diving and soccer teams. For the last two years, she has spent most of her free time coaching junior high soccer in Pittsburgh and enjoys volunteering in her time away from the station and soccer field.
