Viral deaf interpreter has new message for Horry County residents during Florence

Certified deaf interpreter goes viral following Hurricane Matthew

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Horry County Emergency Management Division is sharing a video for the area's deaf and hard of hearing residents about curfews during Hurricane Florence.

This video was filmed by Jason Hurdich and posted to YouTube.

Hurdich is the animated certified deaf sign language interpreter who stood alongside former Gov. Nikki Haley during her news conferences to update the state on Hurricane Matthew.

In his newest video, posted by the HCEMD, Hurdich stresses that now is not the time for residents to think about coming back if they've safely evacuated.
