MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A transformer blew early Friday morning during a WMBF News live shot for Hurricane Florence coverage.

Reporter Halley Murrow was live on the air when a transformer blew and a power line came down in the Cherry Grove area, causing the lights around her to go out and her live shot to go dark.

The incident also gave her quite the scare.

It goes to the importance of staying away from downed power lines during a storm.
