CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A daycare owner has been charged with unlawful neglect of a child after a 1-year-old baby was hurt at her daycare.
In a police report obtained from the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office, it is said that a deputy arrived at the McLeod Health emergency room on Monday regarding an assault that happened earlier that day.
The report says the deputy met with the grandmother of a child who had been dropped off at Children Daylight Daycare in the Cheraw area for the first time earlier on that day.
Throughout the day, the grandmother said she received worrisome text messages and pictures from 38-year-old Bloynde Micheal, the owner of the daycare, regarding her grandson's welfare.
These messages stated that the toddler "had been running back and forth all day" and "had fallen on a dollhouse causing his face to get scratched," according to the report.
When the child was picked up by the mother and grandmother, they noticed that his right arm had marks and bruising from his hand to his elbow along with marks on his left hand.
When the toddler's mother asked Micheal what happened to the child, the report says she could not explain and the child was taken to the hospital.
The report says that while at the hospital, bruising was also discovered on the toddler's butt area.
Micheal was arrested and placed into the Chesterfield County Jail on assault to a toddler charges.
WMBF searched for Children Daylight Daycare on the SC Child Care website and did not find any results of the daycare's existence.
