The company Build-A-Bear is having to stop accepting guests at their stores due to safety concerns after launching a day-long deal.
Build-A-Bear promoted their first-ever Pay Your Age event where guests who signed up for their rewards program could build a stuffed animal at the price of their age.
Thursday was the day the deal launched, and stores nationwide began getting overcrowded.
The company posted on their website and Facebook page that all stores had to stop accepting guests due to local authorities having concerns for safety.
The store's statement read:
Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our U.S. Build-A-Bear Workshop locations due to crowd and safety concerns
We have closed lines in our U.S. stores. We understand some of our Guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible.
There is no word at this time if the deal will be rescheduled for additional guests who were not able to get in line.
