COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) -

A brawl at a gas station in Covington Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of six people. 

According to Chief Tim Lentz, around 7:35 p.m. the Covington Police Department received several calls regarding a fight in front of the ISTOP Grocery in the 1300 block of N. Columbia Street. 

Responding officers were confronted with a large crowd involving multiple altercations.

Louisiana State Police and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office assisted in bringing the crowd under control. The fight was broken up around 9:20 p.m.

Three people were taken to area hospitals. Two people suffered minor injuries, and one with multiple stab wounds, according to Lentz. 

Six people were arrested, including one juvenile. 

One firearm and shell casings were recovered at the scene, according to police. 

Lentz said additional charges are pending and other suspects are being sought.

  • Resisting an Officer
  • Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery

Cedric Laurant, 43, Covington, LA

  • Simple Battery
  • Resisting an Officer

Britney Gillin, 29, Covington, LA

  • Aggravated Assault

Latania Magee, 39, Covington, LA

  • Aggravated Battery

Alvin Laurant, 38, Covington, LA

  • Simple Battery
  • Resisting an Officer
