Key leaders will bring positive changes to the Grand Strand. (Source: WMBF News)
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - More changes are coming to Grand Strand leadership with Johnny Gardner being elected as the next Horry County Council Chairman.
One area of focus for him - public safety.
This has been one of the first issues tackled by Mayor Brenda Bethune and Police Chief Amy Prock, focusing primarily on safety in downtown Myrtle Beach.
A new task force was recently formed as well, with the goal of getting downtown business owners together to change the culture to a more mellow, family-oriented, and desirable part of town for both residents and tourists.
The last key leadership position that is still open for the Grand Strand is the president of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
Consider This: Once in place these four key leaders can make such a huge, positive impact for Myrtle Beach as we continue to grow tourism and attract young families and professionals into relocating and fueling our growth in Horry County. I look forward to the collaboration and new vision.
