MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The suspect arrested in connection to Wednesday's deadly shooting on the U.S. 17 Bypass, right in front of Captain George's restaurant, has been identified.
Javaline Dawkins was arrested late Friday night according to online booking records, for his connection to the incident.
Dawkins, 42, is being charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, kidnapping, and felon in possession of a firearm. Dawkins is expected to appear before a judge in court Saturday at 3 p.m..
Ryan Rasheed Bryant, 27, of Columbus County, North Carolina, eventually died from his injuries at Grand Strand Medical Center. According to Myrtle Beach Police, an off-duty detail heard the gunshots and immediately reported it to police.
Officers arrived and performed CPR at the crime scene in an effort to save the victim's life.
