Fire rips through apartment building in West Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – West Florence firefighters are working a fire at an apartment building at Brittany Place apartments.

Video posted to Facebook by West Florence Fire-Rescue shows the fire has already destroyed at least one unit, and has done significant damage to the rest of the building. Flames and smoke can be seen coming through the roof, and the building’s siding is melted.

    GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) — In order to protect remaining roads from rising waters, government officials have targeted another road to be protected by man-made barriers.  Due to the emergency flood situation in Georgetown, SCDOT will begin assembling a barrier wall on the US 17 bridge crossing the Waccamaw River at noon Sunday.
