Gamecocks WR Chad Terrell suffers torn ACL

COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The University of South Carolina Athletics Department sent out a release Monday evening saying wide receiver Chad Terrell suffered a torn ACL during Saturday's practice.

Coach Will Muschamp said Terrell is expected to be back in the fall.

“It’s an unfortunate situation for Chad, but this is one of the many reasons why we start spring practice so early,” noted Coach Muschamp. “Since the injury occurred so early in the year, we look forward to getting Chad back on the field and helping us this fall.”

No further details were released on the injury.

More widespread rain and the threat for a thunderstorm or two increase as we head deeper into the afternoon, rain becomes steadier through the evening.
