CHARLESTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Lowcountry man decided not to wait for Mother Nature and assembled a device to make his own winter wonderland.

Bradley O’Mara of Charleston posted a video of his snowmaking device on Vimeo Wednesday morning.

O'Mara said he learned how to build the machine online, but had to wait until the weather was right.

"Planning and waiting for the perfect weather conditions is key," he said. "These weather conditions are unique for Charleston.. So when our 3 year old wanted snow, I made it happen."

A winter storm warning was issued for the Charleston area and surrounding counties as meteorologists there expected a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow in the area on Wednesday.
