FIRST ALERT: Clouds, cooler temps linger today

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF)  Wednesday's rain has come to an end, but clouds will linger at times through much of today along with cooler temperatures. 

Today will start off cloudy and cool with morning temperatures in the upper 40s to near 50. 

While no rain is in the forecast today, clouds will stick around for most of day with a few breaks and a little sunshine likely from time to time.  Afternoon temperatures will climb into the middle 50s. 

Tonight will see areas of fog developing with temperatures dropping into the middle 40s. 

Much warmer weather will return by Friday with afternoon temperatures reaching the middle 60s.  As the warmer weather returns, a few showers will be likely from the mid morning hours in the midday hours of Friday.  Any showers will be light and fast moving with no significant rain expected. 

Saturday will see very warm temperatures with near record highs possible near the beach as readings climb into the lower 70s.  Inland temperatures will climb all the way into the middle 70s. 

Changes start by Christmas Eve with rain likely at times through the day and temperatures cooling into the 60s. Some of the rain will be heavy at times by the afternoon and evening. 

Clouds will hang on for Christmas Day with much cooler temperatures only in the upper 40s to near 50.

    The fifth and final suspect wanted in connection with the Christmas Eve murder of a Lake City man was taken into custody in Columbus, Ohio on January 12. Justin Marquise Pringle, 21, was charged with four other men in the murder of 74-year-old Johnny Cameron on December 24, 2017 at the victim’s home on Old Georgetown Road in Lake City, according to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
