TRAFFIC ALERT: Car fire slows traffic on southbound side of U.S. 17 Bypass at 21st Avenue

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A car fire has slowed down traffic in the southbound lanes of U.S. 17 Bypass near 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

The fire started around 5:15 p.m. Fire crews were seen arriving on the scene.

By 5:30 p.m., the fire was extinguished, but traffic was at a standstill. According to Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Lt. Jonathan Evans, everyone got out of the vehicle safely.
