Grand Strand law enforcement recognized at appreciation dinner

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The community together Thursday night to honor law enforcement across the Grand Strand.

The second Grand Strand Community Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner was held at the Pine Lakes Golf Country Club in Myrtle Beach. Officers from all 15 municipalities in Horry County and their families were recognized for their dedicated service to the community.

Awards were also presented to North Myrtle Beach Police Chief Phillip Webster, North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Director Jay Fernandez, Surfside Beach Mayor Bob Childs and Rodney Keziah, the former Surfside Beach police chief.

The dinner was organized by the Grand Strand Law Enforcement Appreciation Committee. Its mission, according to a press release, “is to encourage support for law enforcement and to strengthen communication and mutual respect between citizens and the police. “
