Overturned truck blocks US501 at Forestbrook Road

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An overturned truck blocked a lane of traffic on Highway 501 near Forestbrook Road.

Viewer Scott Covino sent in a photo of the truck, which is flipped on its side, apparently on the southbound on-ramp to U.S. 501. The truck was flipped right-side up by a tow truck at about 12:20 p.m.

The South Carolina DOT is reporting the left southbound lane was closed.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 10:59 a.m., and there were no injuries.

    Florence County, (WMBF) - Florence County Emergency Management officials held a press conference at their emergency management center Thursday to discuss the  Pee Dee and Lynches River flooding situation. Director, Dusty Owens, said the Lynches River and Pee Dee river are on track to overflow by this weekend and anticipates the flooding being slightly larger than Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
