MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police arrested a woman Friday who allegedly hit a hotel desk clerk in the head with a flower pot.

According to information on the Myrtle Beach Police Department’s website, Ayanna Alleyne, 32, was charged with third-degree assault and battery.

An MBPD incident report states the incident happened at 1903 S. Ocean Blvd., which is the Summer Wind Inn and Suites. Police encountered three women in the parking lot.

One of the women said they had just driven from New York and were told they could check in early, but the woman at the front desk “has been rude and did not allow them to,” the report stated.

The victim told police that one of the women got upset and started throwing items that were on the counter.

“She states that a flower pot was thrown and broke when it hit her on the left side of her head,” according to the incident report.

The desk clerk was reportedly offered EMS immediately, but she refused at that time.

According to the report, the suspect allegedly admitted to throwing the flower pot, but stated she did not mean to hit the victim.
