Bennettsville man charged with threatening Marlboro County law enforcement officers

MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Bennettsville man was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly threatening the life of a public official.

According to a press release from the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, Dannie Harrington, 35, was formally charged after he reportedly called 911 after 6 p.m. and made numerous threats that included killing people and members of the MCSO and the Bennettsville Police Department.

Harrington was arrested without incident and will have a bond hearing at a later date, the release stated.

The motive or reasoning for the suspect’s alleged actions are unknown at this time.
