Police: Bodies of two Lumberton women found in various states of decomposition

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) - The Lumberton Police Department is investigating after two bodies were found in the area on Tuesday, according to information from Captain Terry W Parker. According to authorities, one of the bodies were located in the area 505 Peachtree Street. One was found inside a home, while another was discovered in an outside trash can at 702 East 5th Street.

Authorities said that the women were in various states of decomposition. The bodies were transported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies.

At this time, officials can’t speculate the causes of death due to the conditions of the bodies.

Authorities are in the process of identifying the women.
