Former correctional officer arrested after allegedly using electroshock weapon on handcuffed individual

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) – A former detention center officer was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree assault and battery after an incident occurred January 17, according to a press release from Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

Marcia Bailey Marine, 46, of Hartsville allegedly used an electroshock weapon on a handcuffed individual at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

Marine has been terminated, the release states.

Marine is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, awaiting an arraignment.

    A 14-month-old female died Saturday night after being on life support at Duke University Hospital, according to Robeson County Sheriff Sealy. Police received a call from the hospital who suspected child abuse.

    MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -  A local motorcycle club rallied the community together today in honor of two women killed in a bank robbery in Conway. Rivertown Riders hosted a memorial ride today for CresCom Bank employees-- Donna Major and Katie Skeen. The ride started around noon, leaving from Whiskey Beach Bar and Grill on North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. It ended at NewSpring Church along Waccamaw Boulevard around 4:30.     Five men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution in Florence County Friday night, according to online jail records. Deangelo Anton Williams, of Darlington Julius Levern Frierson, of Florence Kendrick Laroy Dixon, of Bishopville Ryan Scott Yarborough, of Darlington Samson Ejiofor Nnaji, of Tampa, Florida All five men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution after midnight Friday night and have since been released.
