GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Midway Fire Rescue is encouraging citizens to prepare and practice an exit plan in the event of a fire.
Firefighters said to close the doors to prevent the spread of fire, and once out of harm's way stay outside.
According to a Facebook post from Midway Fire Rescue, in the first three months of 2017, 40 citizens have died due to fire-related incidents. This nearly doubles the five year average of 22 fire fatalities during the same time period.
