Waccamaw High School wins The Palmetto

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Waccamaw High School, led by Patrick Golden's 3-under par 69, rallied from a 7-stroke deficit on the final day to win the Palmetto High School Golf Championship at True Blue Golf Club.

Waccamaw entered the day trailing Charlotte's Myers Park High School but had four players – Trey Salley, Jackson Cole, Zary Gouin and Golden, shoot 74 or better en route to a second round score of 287. The Warriors finished with a two-day team total of 581, 13 strokes better than Myers Park.

Bishop Hendrickson's Joe Tucker shot a final round 68 at True Blue and finished the Palmetto at 7-under par, which earned him medalist honors in the Championship Flight. Golden and Frederica Academy's Sarut Vongchaisit tied for second two shots back.

Tuscola High School of Waynesville, N.C., won the First Flight championship with a two-day total of 608, good for a 19-stroke victory over Providence Day School. Colin Trahan and Danny Plachock tied for medalist honors in the first flight, finishing at 4-over par 146.
