Lots of 'egg-citing' events planned for Easter weekend

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - You won't have any trouble finding something to do this weekend, there are lots of events scheduled for Easter weekend.

Join the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association on Thursday nights for Bike Nights at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. The fundraiser events helps support local veterans in Horry County. Dawn Temples, Marketing Director for House of Blues, says the fundraiser has raised over $17,000 for the past three years the event has been held.

"It's just partying for a good cause, it's helping out those folks that have given so much for our country and have served for us, and we're just trying to help them out. We do this every Thursday night, there's live local music, great food and drinks specials," said Temples.

The fundraiser event is held each Thursday night on The Deck at HOB. "We have those Combat Veteran Motorcycle guys out here, and we give them a big round of applause every Thursday night and thank them for their service," said Temples.

It's going down, at the Easter Egg Plunge at the Mary C. Canty Recreation Center, on Friday, April 14. The free family event is for children, ages three to 12.  Activities begin at 1:00 p.m. for small children, ages three and four. Parents must be in the water for small children to participate. The afternoon event includes a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny, diving for eggs in the pool and playing games, along with candy and prizes.  Registration is required by Thursday, April 13.  To register, call 843-918-1476 or 843-918-1463.

Hop in to the Children's Museum of South Carolina for the Easter Bunny Eggstravaganza  It's going to be an EGG-stra special event Friday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your camera and snap a picture with the Easter Bunny, participate in our famous museum-wide egg hunt, and enjoy Easter-themed arts and science crafts and activities!  Free with regular museum admission ($8 per person ages 2 and up, free for members).

The Easter Bunny will make a special visit to McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach on Saturday, April 15, to hand out candy to all the children that attend.  The egg hunt begins at 10:00 am sharp, and other activities between 10 a.m. and noon.  Egg hunt areas are divided by age groups (infant and above) and there are many other activities for all ages.

Rockin' with the Easter Bunny at Hard Rock Café Myrtle Beach is Saturday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A delicious hot breakfast, and all kids receive a free admission to Wonderworks and join the Bunny Hop there at 11:00 a.m.Kids admission valid with the purchase of an adult admission at regular price. You can also join the Easter Bunny for breakfast at Gordon Biersch located in the Market Common. Breakfast starts at 9:00 a.m., and you will need to call the restaurant to make reservations. Cost is $10 per person (complimentary for ages 3 and under) and includes a hot meal, coffee, soft drinks, juice or milk. Tax and gratuity are not included.

Don't miss the fun in Surfside Beach an Easter Egg Hunt from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Passive Park.

It's an Eggstravangaza at the Moore Farms in Lake City, SC. Over 8,000 eggs are just waiting to be discovered! Children will explore the garden hunting eggs and treasures along the way. One lucky child will even go home with the prized golden egg. What's inside? You'll have to come find it to see. Egg hunts will start at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 to 4 and 11 a.m. for ages 5 and older. This event is free for the public and will occur rain or shine. Don't forget to bring your own basket! The Moore Farms Botanical Garden is located at 100 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC.

It's a Community Easter Egg Hunt happening in Florence from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The fun will at the at Timrod Park, located by 400 Timrod Drive, and is hosted by Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
