GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man has been charged in connection with a shooting at a house on Myrtle Road near Andrews Monday at around 9 p.m., according to a press release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Dominique Middleton, 25, of Laurie Street is being held on an attempted murder charge in the shooting of Elijah Curtis, 19, of Columbia.

According to a report, Curtis was accompanying Middleton’s girlfriend who’s also from Columbia. Middleton invited his girlfriend to meet him at his sister’s house on Myrtle Road, where she was confronted by another woman who identified herself as a girlfriend and said she wanted to fight.

Gunfire followed the women’s confrontation, and Curtis was struck three times in the leg, the release states.

The woman who was accompanying Curtis told investigators about the incident.

Curtis was transported to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
