LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) – A fire at a home in Little River Wednesday was caused by a lightning strike, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

HCFR Battalion Chief Brian Van Aernem confirmed the fire was connected to the strong storms that moved through the area Wednesday.

No one was hurt in the fire, according to Van Aernem.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 511 Cedar Lakes Drive at 7 p.m.

Heavy fire showing through the roof was seen when crews arrived, said Van Aernem.
