Thousands without power in wake of storm moving through Grand Strand, Pee Dee

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – More than 2,000 customers are without power Wednesday night after a strong storm system moved the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee, bringing with it wind, hail, strong rains and lightning. 

Information from Santee Cooper's website shows approximately 1,573 customers without power in Horry County. 

Of that, Little River has the most outages, with 1,171. An additional 257 were recorded in Myrtle Beach, while there were 124 in North Myrtle Beach. 

The estimated time for power to be restored to Horry County customers was between 10 and 11 p.m., according to Santee Cooper.

According to information on Duke Energy's website, approximately 969 customers are without power in Dillon County. The estimated restoration time is 12 a.m. Thursday.

An additional 27 customers are without power in Marion County. The estimated restoration time is 10 p.m. Wednesday.
