GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – A man, who is also an illegal alien, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl at a home, according to a press release from the Horry County Government.

Georgetown County Law Enforcement responded to the mother of the child who reported that Alberto Villegas assaulted her child, the release states.

The mother, through an interpreter, told police that her daughter was assaulted while she was out of the room making something to eat for Villegas.

According to the release, the woman told police that when she returned Villegas looked nervous and acted strange when her daughter went to the bathroom.

The girl told her mother that she had been assaulted, the report states.

When the mother first confronted the suspect, he denied it. He later admitted to the assault after being pressured.

Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced that Villegas pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct.
