MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police after he reportedly assaulted a woman at an adult store on Kings Highway Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to Badd Kitty at about 2:11 p.m., and the 30-year-old victim told police she was taking the trash out when she saw the suspect, later identified as 43-year-old Bobby Joe Buffkin. He asked her for a cigarette, and she went into the store to get him one.

Buffkin then followed the woman in through the back door, the police report states. She told him to get out of the store because he was not wearing shoes or a shirt. She told police Buffkin said, “You messed up, I’m going to get that [expletive] now,” then grabbed her waist and pulled her towards him.

The woman yelled at Buffkin and tried to walk away, but he grabbed her rear end, the report states. She then walked to the register area and called police. When Buffkin saw she was calling police, he fled out the back door.

Police located Buffkin a few blocks away at 12th Avenue North and the beach access, and he was placed under arrest, the report states. Police drove the woman to the offender, and she positively identified him. Police also watched store surveillance camera video, and confirmed what the victim said about the assault.
