HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A head-on collision Wednesday night in the Conway area sent three people to the hospital.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Judd Jones, the crash happened at 7:35 p.m. on U.S. 378 near Squires Lane.

A 2008 Lincoln SUV was westbound on U.S. 378 when the driver went to pass a car and struck a 2007 Chevy SUV head-on, Jones said.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Conway Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to Jones. A passenger in the Chevy was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to Jones, the road was blocked for an hour as crews responded.
