DILLON, SC (WMBF) – Michael Rogers, the Assistant Principal at Dillon High School, died Monday, March 27 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon. He was 49.
Dillon County School District Ray Rogers says Michael Rogers was an excellent role model, and was well-thought-of by everyone. Michael Rogers had been assistant principal at Dillon High School for the past five years, and coached prior to going to Dillon. Ray Rogers said Michael Rogers always worked with the kids, and they loved him at Dillon High School.
Services for Michael Rogers will be held at 5 p.m. at at the Ellis Performing Arts Center in Latta with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home, according to his obituary.
Students at Dillon High School have planned a memorial service for Michael Rogers on April 12 in the school's auditorium, Ray Rogers said. Those same students are starting a scholarship fund in his honor.
