NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A five-year-old who had been swimming at the main swimming pool at North Myrtle Beach Plantation died Saturday as a result of drowning, according to Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.
Lierra Stevenson, of Cleveland, Ohio, was transported in an unresponsive condition to a local hospital March 28, according to a press release from the City of North Myrtle Beach.
When personnel arrived on the scene, people were performing CPR on the child in an effort to resuscitate her.
The fire rescue also performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator, but the child remained unresponsive, the release states.
The girl was then transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
