Report: Boyfriend grabbed woman by throat, wanted for domestic violence

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A woman told police that she and her boyfriend got into an argument and he grabbed her by the throat until she became unconscious on Monday, according to a police report from Myrtle Beach Police Department.

The woman said that after her boyfriend, 34-year-old Timothy Carter, assaulted her, she woke up in a bathtub in their hotel room at Landmark, located on 1501 South Ocean Boulevard.

The report states that the woman then walked to the lobby with her 2-year-old and waited for the police to arrive. Carter left the scene in a white Cadillac.

Once the officer arrived, he spoke with the victim and called Carter for his side of the story.

Carter told the police that the two began to argue and he couldn't take it anymore, so he left. He said that he never touched the woman.

The officer said that Carter was being uncooperative with giving information and refused to come back to the hotel.

A member of the hotel staff witnessed Carter pushed the woman out of the room, according to the police report. The witness asked the victim if she was okay, and she walked back into the room.

The witness then went to the lobby and called the police.

Red marks were seen around the victim's throat area, the report states. EMS was called to the scene to check on the victim's injuries.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department posted Carter's photo and information on their Facebook page. Carter is wanted for 2nd-degree domestic violence. He is described as a white man who is 6-feet-3-inches tall, weighing 215 pounds with blonde hair.
