CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Coastal Carolina University athletic program continues to grow locally and nationally.

That’s why a group of people want to take the program to another level when it comes to its fan base. It's called the Ultimate Fan Experience, a new initiative to get more people active when it comes to going to games.

Maurice Simpkins, a former Chanticleer and American football linebacker along with former Chanticleer football player Brian Kepple started this movement.

Both say CCU fans need another option to support their teams, so they wanted to bring back a group of alumni football players who started the program to create this initiative.

The goal is to see Coastal Carolina on the levels of Clemson and South Carolina when it comes to the fan base.

CCU needs work in that area, so the group of alumni is making travel easier so that growth can actually happen.

The Ultimate Fan Experience is a membership club for fans to support Coastal Carolina University by traveling to away games in style.

Within the package are private chartered direct flights, hotel accommodations, pregame tailgate and game tickets.

The alumni group who is putting this together say right now if you book a trip on your own it will be more expensive and have more stops which is why they're pulling money out of their own pocket to make it affordable.

Creating this initiative inspired them by seeing CCU grow on a national level, but now they need more people on Coastal's bandwagon.

The Ultimate Fan Experience goal is to generate not just a buzz around the football team, but ultimately for all CCU athletics.

“They've got a great athletic program and I think we need to continue to embrace it and continue to get more people to the point where they go to games so they can continue to grow and continue to be successful and I think this is just one step in the process,” The Ultimate Fan Experience organizer Brian Kepple said.

Organizers already have one chartered plane that will allow for 150 coach passengers and 12 first class passengers.

There’s a discussion about the possibility of having more than one plane, and even maybe having a plan coming from another city besides Myrtle Beach.

But at this time this initiative is just a trial to see the response it gets.

Organizers have been making every effort to make this trip cost-efficient for the members and really have the ability for every CCU fan to be able to afford the experience involved with Ultimate Fanatic Experience.

The first Ultimate Fanatic Experience is already in the works.

Organizers are seeking to bring together die-hard Chanticleer fans in support of the football team as they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks of the SEC.

People who sign up for the package will be staying at the Indigo Sky Casino in Wyandotte, OK.

There will be chartered bus transportation, as well as a catered tailgate at the University of Arkansas's Tailgate pavilion.

The package also includes the game ticket to the football game with CCU vs Arkansas on Nov. 4.

Organizers have been talking to both student-athletes and the athletic administration about this initiative and they are in in full support of this idea.
