UPDATE: Suspect in armed robbery of Georgetown Dollar General arrested

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Deputies with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a suspect in connection with Monday’s armed robbery of the local Dollar General store.

According to a GCSO press release, John Nathan Linen II, 35, of Georgetown was arrested Monday evening at his home. He is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime.

Linen has been taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing, the release stated.

The robbery took place at the Dollar General store at 8003 N. Fraser St. in Georgetown. According to the GCSO, the suspect presented a small handgun and demanded cash from the clerk.

He then fled the area in an unknown direction.
