HILTON HEAD, SC (WMBF) – It’s being called the “Lowcountry Expedition.”

Ocearch, a non-profit organization that catches and studies great white sharks, worked along the coast of South Carolina for the first time recently.

During their expedition, the team caught two great whites named Hilton and Savannah, as well as two tiger sharks named Weimar and Beaufort.

The sharks were tagged and samples were taken for research purposes.

On Wednesday, Hilton was tagged just off the coast of Myrtle Beach.

WMBF’s Kaitlin Stansell was a part of this expedition and will have a full report on the team’s efforts Thursday at 11.
