DILLON, SC (WMBF) – A portion of U.S. 301 in Dillon will be closed for the weekend so construction on the bridge over the Little Pee Dee River can take place.

According to a press release from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, U.S. 301 between Interstate 95 and S.C. 9 in Dillon will be closed starting at 5 p.m. on Friday and running through 5 a.m. on Monday, March 20.

Detour routes will be in place to guide traffic. The release stated that barricades will be placed on the south end of Kentyre Road to allow access to U.S. 301.

Several parts of the road will still be accessible during the closure. However, according to the SCDOT, traffic will not be able to cross the bridge.
