MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A pregnant Myrtle Beach woman’s live impression of April the giraffe has gone viral.

Erin Dietrich was streaming live on Facebook as she paced about her bedroom, wearing leggings and a giraffe mask shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday.

Dietrich said she constantly watches the live stream of April the giraffe, who is waiting to give birth at the Animal Adventure Park in New York.

"You know, I never sleep at night anymore so all night I check on this giraffe," she said.

Scott Dietrich, Erin's husband, was not as thrilled about the watching the birth of the calf.

"I just didn’t understand it. It’s awesome and everything that a giraffe is having a baby, but I just didn’t understand," he said. "I thought it was kind of a regular thing that giraffes and other animals have babies."

However, the couple agreed that it would be funny to poke fun of Erin's fascination with the animal.

So, they stuck their neck out to go 'live' on Facebook.

"Like, we just did this for our friends because they were making fun of me, because I'm obsessed with this giraffe, and now we've got like 10 million, something," Erin said.

The couple came up with the idea Friday and ordered the mask online.

"I thought Amazon Prime definitely has to have something like this and two days later it shows up in the mail," said Scott.

The two did the live feed after they returned home from church.

"We put the kids to bed, and I was like, 'Hey let’s do a live feed in our bedroom walking around, like how April does in the barn stall, just for our friends joking around,'" Erin said.

Mimicking April, but putting her own spin on the live stream, viewers can see Erin pulled out a rocking chair and sit down. She also started dancing and even did a couple of jumping jacks.

Scott said he was holding the camera at the top of the bedroom door to get the angle. He added the video was only supposed to be a minute long.

"I just saw the activity pick up," he said. "I was like, 'Keep on going.'"

As of 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the Facebook video had more than 335,000 shares.

"I had to turn off my Facebook requests," she said. "My phone is like going crazy!"

It's just the latest non-dull moment in the couple's home.

"This house is a circus," Erin said. "We have a 7-year-old girl, we have a 4-year-old and a 2-year old boy, and this house is a circus from sun up to sun down. We’re not serious people; we don’t take life too serious. We just have fun."

The couple is expecting their fourth child, a boy, as Erin is 40 weeks pregnant and expected to deliver any day.

"I heard that April is expected to give birth to her fourth calf," she said. "How cool is that?!"

The couple is now waiting to see who will give birth first.

"I think she wants to have the baby before the giraffe, but we'll see," Scott said. "I guess the race is on. I don't know, April or Erin?"

The Animal Adventure Park said a potential omen of a pending birth appeared Sunday - "the face and neck of a young giraffe appeared in the bedding this afternoon.”
