FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A Florence man was arrested last week for his alleged involvement in downloading and distributing child pornography on the internet, according to a news release from the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.
Joseph Nicklaus Trolio, 35, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, an offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison, the release states.
Trolio was arrested on February 27 by investigators with the Attorney General's Office, officials stated. The Florence Police Department, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, assisted with the investigation. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
Trolio was released Tuesday on a $30,000 bond, according to jail records.
