CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A North Carolina man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison for robbing a man in Loris one year ago.

Don Sherrill Maness III, 21, of Supply, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and possession of a sawed-off shotgun stemming from the robbery, which occurred on December 20, 2015 at a home on Edwards Road in Loris. Maness was arrested the following day.

Maness must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before he is eligible for parole, according to a news release from the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

“It was the dedication of the officers with Horry County Police Department that solved this case and lead to this guilty plea,” Richardson said. “We appreciate their work on this and keeping the community safe.”
