Suspect in custody after brief manhunt in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A suspect was apprehended Thursday morning after they failed to stop their vehicle for a Florence County Sheriff’s Office deputy, crashed, then bailed out of the vehicle, according to authorities.

At about 9 a.m., a deputy tried to stop a vehicle on South Irby Street in Florence, said Major Michael Nunn. The vehicle failed to stop for the blue light, and was then involved in an accident near Second Loop Road and Irby Street.

The suspect then fled on foot, but was apprehended at about 9:28 a.m., Major Nunn said.

    PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - A woman is recovering Sunday after a shooting in the parking lot of a Pawleys Island restaurant sent her to the hospital. According to Georgetown Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jason Lesley, the woman was shot outside of the SandBar on Ocean Hwy before fleeing to a nearby convenience store.
