Conway man volunteering for The Salvation Army

Donating to The Salvation Army Donating to The Salvation Army

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - During the holidays, many of us get caught up in the hustle and bustle of this busy season and forget to give back to our community. One Conway man, Tim Galloway, decided to give up some of his time to help raise money for our community. Tim volunteered to be a Kettle Bell Ringer for The Salvation Army and has been spending multiple days a week raising money since Thanksgiving.

When asked what made him make the decision to give up his time to volunteer this holiday season, Tim said, “I volunteered to help the needy people” in our community. "You never know when you are going to need help yourself."

Tim said this is his first year volunteering and so far he has seen “a lot of people giving” and donating this season.

Tim said one message he hopes to spread to others is to “give to the needy people because they need it.” Not only does Tim volunteer for the Salvation Army, but he also helps take care of his girlfriend, who has diabetes. He said his girlfriend’s mom passed away right before Christmas last year and he makes sure he is there for her, especially during this time of the year. Tim also is an Usher at his local church.

Tim said he wanted to let everyone know to have a “Merry, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and May God Bless You.”
