HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Police are trying to identify and locate men suspected of stealing over $52,000, including over $21,000 in a string of credit card frauds in Horry County.
The men in pictures provided by the department are suspected of targeting Wells Fargo ATMs to withdraw funds from existing accounts using fraudulent credit cards.
Between October 15 and October 26, the suspects attempted to withdraw $29,500 from 15 accounts from Wells Fargo ATMs across South Carolina, with $20,904 being approved.
Since then, it was discovered that 26 more accounts had been compromised with fraudulent ATM activity, collectively accounting for nearly $90,000 in attempted withdrawals, with $52,036 being approved.
