Man found dead in Lumberton after police respond to shots fired call

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – A Lumberton man was found dead after police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of St. James Circle in Lumberton Tuesday evening.

According to a Lumberton Police news release, officer were dispatched to the area at about 6:37 p.m. When they arrived, they found 39-year-old Tremain Lamont Mclaurin dead.

At this time, no other information is available for release. The investigation is ongoing with investigators following possible leads. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Evan Whitley at 910-671-3845.
