Myrtle Beach celebrates 20th Arbor Day at Whispering Pines

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach celebrated Arbor Day on Monday at Whispering Pines, where the city received the Tree City USA Award.

The senior planner of Myrtle Beach spoke about why this is a special arbor day celebration.

“This is our 20th anniversary as a Tree City USA, and part of our Tree City celebration is to celebrate Arbor Day,” said Diane Moskow McKenzie, Senior Planner, City of Myrtle Beach. “This is also our 20th anniversary for Arbor Day in Myrtle Beach.”

Monday’s ceremony ended with a tree planting at the golf course entrance.
