Health inspectors visit MYR, and Coastal Grand Mall eateries

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Heading out to dinner this weekend and doing some holiday shopping, you'll be glad to know there were several restaurants that earned perfect scores. Health inspectors made their way to Myrtle Beach International Airport and Coastal Grand Mall.

Next time you're waiting at Myrtle Beach International Airport, stop by the Boardwalk Cafe. Health inspectors were there, and gave the cafe a perfect 100 score. MSE Branded Foods General Manager Boris Minkov said the employees work together to make sure they follow all the rules and food is safe.

"We can fix any nut and bolt, but I can't fix anyone's health, so we don't take any shortcuts there," Minkov said.

Steak 'n Shake, located inside MYR also earned a perfect 100 score. Not quite a perfect score, but still a notably good score of 96, went to Nacho Hippo, another airport eatery. A minor violation was noted - a rolling cart was blocking a hand sink. There was a trash can blocking the hand sink near the cook line, however both violations were corrected during the inspection.

Local brewery and restaurant, Gordon Biersch in the Market Common, earned a score of 97 out out of 100. Health inspectors noted a minor violation involving dish machine temperatures.

The Clubhouse Deli, located at 3000 South Ocean Boulevard earned a perfect score. The Lucky Panda, located at 3300 Highway 17 South, got a 100 score. Pulse Ultra Nightclub located at 2701 South Kings Highway earned a 100 score.

Keep in mind, just because a restaurant will earn an "A" on its door or window, doesn't mean it will be a perfect score. This week, at Coastal Grand Mall, Hwy 55 Burger Shakes and Fries, got a score of 88. The health inspector said the rear hand sink didn't have proper water flow. Another hand sink was used to rinse off equipment and food in the front of the facility. Also, stored, cleaned dishes and cutting boards were soiled with roach droppings and dirt particles, according to the inspection report. Also observed, shelves and sides of equipment were dirty with roach dropping, dust and debris.
Live roaches were seen across clean cutting boards and food containers.
